What I did

At Pichak, I worked across a range of consumer products, from audio recording apps to VPN services and a physical hardware product. My main focus was designing simple, usable experiences for complex problems, especially at a time when modern AI-assisted tools didn’t exist.

Recordium — Voice Recorder with Highlight

Recordium was a voice recording app designed for students, journalists, and users who relied on voice notes for capturing information. The main problem was that long audio recordings become hard to navigate. There was no way to understand structure or quickly find important moments inside a recording.

To solve this, I designed an experience where users could add highlights and notes during recording, allowing them to later jump directly to key parts instead of listening to the full audio. I worked across almost the entire product: onboarding, recording flow, audio player, recordings list, highlighting system, and overall UX.

One of the more interesting parts of my work was building an automation system for App Store assets. Using a JavaScript script, I automated the generation of localized screenshots. What normally took up to a week could be done in around 15 minutes.

VPN Products (VPN in Touch / Betternet / HexaTech)

I also worked on several VPN products focused on radically simplifying the connection experience.

The core idea was: users should not think about servers, settings, or complexity. There should only be one action. connect. This led to designing a one-tap VPN experience, where all technical complexity was hidden behind a single interaction. This approach helped these products reach top chart positions in multiple countries.

Betterbox — Hardware + Software Experience

Betterbox was a physical router device with a built-in VPN service. In this project, I worked not only on UI but also on the setup experience and the full management dashboard, including account management, subscription renewal, connection status, devices, and data usage.
